Mailing Addresses and Address Verification

We just wanted to drop a brief message about your shipping address and address verification.

Many folks are new to us, and we appreciate you so much, but you may not be familiar with how we ship.

We only ship by US Mail.  Mostly Ground Advantage, and some Priority Mail (if ordering by phone).  Here is some insight as to how the United States Postal Service verifies mailing addresses.

  1. If you have a PO Box, you do not need to add your street address. But you do need to put the words PO BOX in front of the box number.  Too many are leaving just a number and no information as to what the number means.  Also, Canadians, please use PO in front of BOX.  We don't know if you have a box in front of your house, or if it is a postal box at your post office.
  2. Please do not use ANY punctuation in your mailing address, with one exception:
    1. Apartment, Suites, PMB, Lots, Spaces may have a pound sign [#] in front, but not always.  Most are APT 1 (etc.) STE 101 (etc.) LOT 1 (etc.)
    2. All of the above go on the same line as your mailing address.
      1. 1234 MAIN ST APT 1 for example is all the same line in Address box 1.
  3. USPS does not accept special characters such as í, ï, ó. so if you have vía in your address, it should be VIA.  International countries use a lot of diaeresis and acutes which is not valid in the US computer systems and can mess up your address.  Use simple vowels such as a, e, i, o and u.
  4. If your address is a new address, please confirm with USPS that your address is in their system.  A new suite or apartment needs to be added to USPS' AVS.
  5. The countries that we ship to are countries that we can verify addresses with using Melissa.com  If your country does not allow us to verify your address using this system, we cannot ship to you.  (Unfortunately, that means you, Ireland).

In summary, it is up to the customer to give us correct information.  If we do not have correct information, and your shipment is lost in transit, we do our very best to help, but the customer must take some responsibility.

During the holiday season, please allow 14 business days or more for delivery.  We ship within 24-48 hours, but we cannot control how fast the postal service processes the delivery.  Most folks get it very quickly, but consider your location, did you provide the correct information, is USPS running slow in your area, etc.
