These fun projects are easy to make from layers of standard wood following the step-by-step instructions included on our full-size pattern. Each bank uses one acrylic oval (#PLEX5), one bank plug (#PLUG) and brass screws (#BS100). Click on "More Info" for a complete parts required list.
Banks measure up to 13" tall x 11" wide.
WOOD:
One - 2X12 x 60" long board, #2 or better grade pine.
One - 1X4 x 36" long board, #2 or better grade pine.
One - 12" x 12" x 1/4" thick piece of Finnish plywood (#FPLY412).
HARDWARE/MATERIALS:
Screws - Eight #4 x 1/2" long brass, round head (1 pack of #BS100).
Rubber Hole Plug - Two 1-1/4" dia. (#PLUG).
Acrylic Oval - Two 4-1/2" x 6" x 3/32" thick (#PLEX5).
TOOLS:
Hand held sabre saw (jig saw), table saw, band saw or scroll
saw with a smooth cutting non-chipping blade, drill, 1-1/4" dia. drill bits and a screw driver.
SUPPLIES:
Pattern transfer paper (#CARB), pencil & clear tape.
Sand paper - medium & fine grits.
Wood filler - non shrinking, fast drying for wood flaws.
Paint brushes - 2", 3/4", 1/4" and fine tip detail brushes.
Wood glue-exterior (#GLUETB3).
SEALER:
High-grade, non-yellowing, semi-gloss project sealer (#INDRQT) for indoor protection.
PAINT:
2030-Burnt Sienna
2049-Spice Brown
2085-Natural Beige
2411-Raw Sienna
2505-White
2506-Black
I only made the sitting dog and the pattern is incorrect.. as it is, you are covering the coin slot with the head,
One of the pieces needs to be cut from 1” not 2” lumber
