Juvenile Jay Birdhouse Pattern

Hang this unique project from a tree limb using wire and an eyescrew or mount on a fence or tree trunk using our Flush Mount Hangers (available below). The bottom is hinged for easy clean out when nesting season is over. Fun project is easy to make from our full-size pattern and step-by-step instructions. (23" tall)

Project uses two brass plated hinges (#BHNG1).

One 1X12 x 72" long pine board
One 2X4 x 5" long pine board

Saw:
Table Saw and Band Saw or Scroll Saw

Supplies:
Transfer paper (#CARB), pencil & clear tape
Sand paper - medium & fine grits
Wood glue - exterior (#GLUETB3) Wood filler - non-shrinking, fast drying for wood flaws
Paint Brushes - 3/4", 1/4" and 2" wide brushes or foam tip

Hardware:

1 - #BHNG1 - Brass Hinges
1 - #EYE3 - Eye Screw for hanging or 1 - #FMH - Flush Mount Hanger

Paint:
White primer (#PRIMQT) for a base coat and the following suggested colors of acrylic paint or exterior semi-gloss enamel:
P2020 - Red Iron Oxide
P2059 - Blue Jay
P2090 - Hippo Grey
P2505 - White
P2506 - Black

Sealer:
High-grade, non-yellowing, semi-gloss UV protected project sealer (#POLYQT) for outdoor protection.
