Materials used to make one Whirling Wing design listed below

WOOD:
One 1X6 x up to 26" long board (#2 or better grade pine).
One 16" x 16" piece of 5/32" thick Finnish plywood (#FPLY516)
Dowel - One 1" dia. x 5-1/4" long, wood (for optional stake method of displaying)

TOOLS:
Table saw and a scroll saw, band saw or hand held jigsaw with a smooth cutting, non-chipping blade, electric drill, 5/32", 11/64", 3/16", 1/4", and 3/8" dia. drill bits.

HARDWARE:
Hub - One 3/4" x 2-1/2" dia., wood.
Metal Sleeves - One 15/64" dia. x 13/16" long, brass.
Metal Rods - One 5/32" dia. x 5" long.
Washers - Four 3/16" I.D. x 7/16" O.D., Brass.
Eyescrews - 1/4" I.D. Zinc plated. (#EYE4 - optional: for hanging)
Screws - Two #6 x 1/2" long, flat head.
Stakes - One 3/16" dia. x 11" long, zinc plated steel (#YS11)
One 3/8" dia. x 18" long, fiberglass rod (#YS18)
PVC piping - One 1" I.D. x 36" long, sched. 40.
PVC Pipe Cap - One 1" I.D., sched. 40.

SUPPLIES:
Transfer paper (#CARB), pencil & clear tape. Sand paper-medium & fine grits.
Wood filler-non shrinking, fast drying for wood flaws.
Paint brushes-2", 3/4" & 1/4" wide brushes & a fine tipped detail brush.
Wood glue-exterior or interior depending on use.

PAINT:
Water base primer (#PRIMQT) for a base coat and the following suggested colors of acrylic paint:
