Whirling Flower Whirligigs Wood Project Plan

Choice of 12 flower petals and 9 leaves to design your own whirling flowers. Flowers vary in diameter from approximately 8" to 13 1/2" and the height varies according to your own preferences. The whirling flowers are attached to a dowel and may be used as a poke in your garden or even in a flower pot.

Dimensions:
Flowers vary in diam from approximately 8" to 13 1/2" and the height
Varies according to your own preference (the ones we made up are approx. 21"-30" tall.)

Wood: (To make all 12 flowers)
3/4" thick #2 grade pine (takes approx. 1x12 x 24") to make hubs
1/4" thick plywood for leaves (takes approximately 12" x 24" piece to make 12 flowers) #FPLY4
5/32" thick plywood #fply for petals (takes between 1 & 2 sheets per Flower depending on the size of petals used - 16 sheets will make the 12 different flowers shown)

Saw:
Scroll saw and/or Band Saw

WINFIELD PARTS:
#WGKIT4 - Will make 10 flowers (brass screws & brass tubes)
#FPLY - (10) Can make 10 flowers (16) - to make all 12 flowers

Paints: White primer (#PRIMQT) for a base coat and the following suggested colors of acrylic paint or exterior semi-gloss enamel:
