Just hang the two swing ropes from a high tree limb and watch the fun as the birds begin to move in. A fun and easy project to make from weather resistant cedar and pressure treated boards. Backs are hinged for easy clean out. (25" tall)
Project uses 2 of our 20mm Blue Plastic Eyes (#PE115) sold below.
Wood:
one 1" x 7 1/4" x 16" long rough sawn cedar board
one 1X8 x 89" long cedar board
one 1X6 x 32" long treated pine board
one 2X6 x 24" long treated pine board
Saw:
table saw or circular saw and band saw or scroll saw
Hardware:
1 #BHNG1 - Brass plated hinges
2 #PE115 - 20mm Blue Plastic Eyes
Note: A Sealer is not necessary when using exterior grade Cedar.
I put this together and hung it up in November. I've had people stop and ask where I got that. I tell them I built it, they ask if I can build them one. I built one and have another to do.
Not too complicated with basic tools. I've built over 20 different things from TWC's plans which are pretty complete and easy to follow. Here's a couple of pictures.
Very detailed for beginners. I do wish they would give better details on material needed before purchasing. I could get it all on the order
My husband is retired and needed something to keep him busy “or I need something to keep him busy”. So far so good.
