These fun planter designs are easily made using free shipping pallets! Using wood from recycled pallets saves you money and helps the environment by saving trees and keeping used pallets out of landfills.
Plans include full-size patterns and step-by-step instructions that will ensure your success. Paint using color washes that show off the unique character of the pallet boards or simply using solid colors. (up to 35" tall)
Note: If you prefer, our Pallet Wood projects can be cut from rough fence boards, regular pine boards or cut out in one piece from plywood.
WOOD: Approximately one (1) Standard Wood Pallet. The following are just a few suggestions that may help you find a source of free wood pallets in your area
PLACES TO FIND PALLETS - smaller local companies that receive larger inventory items such as appliance store, garden stores, nurseries and local lumber yards, craigslist.org, or drive through nearest industrial area.
PARTS/HARDWARE: required for assembly and displaying
Nails - 1 box of finish nails 3/4" to 1" long.
Screws - Six #8 x 1-1/2" long, flat head, Two #8 x 1-1/4" long, flat head.
L-Brackets - Six 2-1/2" with screws, plated steel.
TOOLS: Hand held jigsaw (sabre saw) with a non-chipping, scrolling blade, Tape Measure, Drill and 3/16" drill bit, Hammer and/or Nail Gun.
SUPPLIES: Transfer paper (#CARB), pencil & clear tape.
Sand paper - medium & fine grits
Paint Brushes - 2: wide and a fine tipped detail brush.
Exterior Wood Glue: (#GLUETB3)
