Various sizes of 1-1/2", 1/2", 5/8" and 1/4" thick, #2 (or better) grade pine
1/8" thick cedar shakes
Pieces of 4X4's lengths despend on the number of birdhouse projects you choose to make.
Refer to the Bill of Materials and Instructions for individual houses for special lumber needed.
HARDWARE:
Dowel – Refer to Bill of Material for appropriate dowel diameter and lengths.
Wooden Ball – One 1" diameter (#BAL1)
Knob – Two 3/4" diameter wooden (#KNO75)
Wooden Wheel – One 1" diameter (#WHL1)
TOOLS:
Hand held sabre saw, table saw, scroll saw or band saw with smooth cutting scrolling blade, a drill with 3/16", 1/4" diameter drill bits and 3/4", 7/8", 1" and 1-1/4" diameter spade bits.
SUPPLIES:
Transfer paper, pencil and clear tape
Sand paper – medium & fine grits
Wood filler – non-shrinking, fast drying for wood flaws
Wood glue
Paint Brushes – 1/4" and 3/4" wide brushes
Fine tipped detail brush
PAINT:
White water based primer (#PRIMQT) for a base coat and the following colors of acrylic paint or exterior semi-gloss enamel:
